Pondering The Nativity of Christ

From The Nativity icon, 2024.

Place: Mount Carmel Spirituality Centre, 1225 Township Rd 535, Parkland Village, AB (West of Edmonton and north of Stony Plain)/

Time: 11 am Talk (following the community’s 10 am Mass)

In preparation for the celebration of the Christmas Feast in 2024, the friars of the Mt. Carmel Spirituality Centre and Symeon van Donkelaar invite you to a talk by the artist about his newly completed icon of the Nativity of Christ. As an iconographic prototype rich in tradition and history and now rendered in the unique style of the Conestoga Icons style, many details in this complicated icon will inspire and bless those who take the time to see them.

The talk is planned to take place after the regular Saturday Mass at Mt. Carmel, with Mass being at 10am and the talk beginning at 11am. Coffee and snacks will be provided.

You can learn more about this event and the people involved in it by going to the websites of the Mt. Carmel Spirituality Centre (mountcarmeledmonton.ca) and Conestoga Icons (www.symeonvandonkelaar.com).
