Today I cleaned up my presence at the Homer Watson Gallery in Kitchener. Last March I was named Artist in Residence for this public gallery and over the past year I have had opportunity to demonstrate, lecture and paint.
Over the summer I painted in the little cabin on the grounds that was used for the Doon School of Fine Arts during the 1950’s and 60’s. It was a small, but wonderful space.
The year certainly flew by. While all the staff at the gallery was supportive, I would especially like to thank Jennifer Kelland Wood, the AiR Coordinator and Gallery Assistant, who made the experience pleasant and especially effective by her championing of my work.
Over the coming year I will be staying on at the Watson Gallery as their virtual Artist in Residence and will be participating in CAFKA’s Haptic in this capacity from September 20 – 30, 2007.
