After working with my initial idea over a fortnight I’ve realized that I’d like this work to be more sculptural and not confined it to a wall. To that end each colour branch will be growing out of a single trunk.
The branching effect has taken some effort to achieve, but a conversation with my mechanic and neighbour got me thinking in the right direction. This particular model isn’t sturdy enough to build any larger, but it’s clear to me now that it will be possible.
My next big challenge will be to work out how the pigment is going to fit into the rings.
